PLANS to erect a concrete panel slurry store with a geotextile cover to provide six months slurry storage have been refused.
The Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority's planners refused the application submitted by Town Head Farm, Grassington stating in its opinion 'the slurry tank and roof would, through its size, scale, design, form and prominent siting close to public rights of way, including the Dales Way, have a harmful impact of the open landscape of this part of the national park'.
The decision notice added: "The slurry tank and roof would not conserve or enhance the natural beauty of the national park and its development would result in a significant degree of landscape harm, inconsistent with Policies SP1, SP2, SP3, SP4 and BE2 of the Yorkshire Dales.
