A TRACTOR run organised by Masham Young Farmers' Club raised £2,500 for the UK Sepsis Trust.
The event, on Sunday, May 29, involved 64 tractors and covered a 50-mile route starting in Masham Market Place, and travelling through Thornton Watlass, Crakehall, Hunton and Leyburn, where the convoy stopped for lunch at the auction mart. Afterwards, the route took in Grinton Moor, Bellerby, Middleham and East Witton. The run finished in Fearby with a barbecue and raffle.
A spokesperson for Masham YFC said: "Many thanks to the local businesses who supported us by providing donations for the barbecue and raffle. We would like to say a special thanks to The Countryman’s Inn, Hunton, for hosting a quiz and coffee morning on our behalf, the proceeds of which are included in our total."
On June 9, members met at The White Bear in Masham to present the UK Sepsis Trust with a cheque for £2,500. Representatives from the charity gave a talk about how to spot the signs of sepsis. Information about the illness can be found on sepsistrust.org
Masham YFC meets on a Thursday evening at 7.30pm. More information about the club can be found by joining the Facebook page Masham Young Farmers’ Club or by emailing mashamyfc@gmail.com.
