ORGANISERS of a popular air show set to return this weekend have released maps of where all the action will be taking place.

Teesside Airshow, which is returning after a five-year break, takes place on Saturday and is now sold-out.

Featuring an array of air displays and attractions on the ground, it is set to kick off at Teesside Airport from 10am.

The gates open at 10am, along with ground attractions, with air displays starting at 12noon.

Organisers are keeping tight lipped about the exact running order but it will be printed in the programme on the day.

All of the action is taking place at the northern end of the airport site, between the runway and the A67.

And visitors can get close to the action, with the main viewing area right next to the runway.

Immediately next to the viewing area is a display of vintage cars, which is next to the static plane display.

There will also be a display of vintage army vehicles and army display area, which is between the car park and the viewing area.

A 7,500 space car park is located at the northern edge of the airport site, next to the A67.

Next to it will be the public entrance to the site, along with a 50m zip wire.

A food court, first aid and toilets will all be available, as well as VIP hospitality and a VIP parking area.

There is now less than a week to go before the Red Arrows, Eurofighter Typhoon display team, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight take to the skies.

About 20,000 people are expected at the Skylive Air show and no tickets will be sold on the day.

The programme for the air show – the only one for 120 miles – features a 30-minute display from the world-famous Red Arrows, British Aerobatic Champions The Starlings, bringing high-octane close formation aerobatics, an L-39 Albatross display and the RAF Falcons, the UK’s premier military parachute display team and much more. 

There will also be plenty to do on the ground, with a huge motor show exhibition, displays by the Army, motorcycle stunt show, a strongman contest, fun fair, food and drink stalls and a chance to see the Rugby League World Cup statues in person.
