FIREFIGHTERS were called in to release a woman locked in a toilet yesterday.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said their crews were called out at 10.58am yesterday morning (May 26) to Scarborough.

Crews were called to Westborough and attended a retail building to release the woman from a toilet, where the lock had failed.

A service spokesman said: "Crews used small tools to safely release the female.

Crew then liaised with a staff member before leaving the incident."
