GENERATIONS of a North Yorkshire farming family are heading for Broadway and Beyond, backing Northallerton Musical Theatre Company’s latest production.

Following the pandemic, the company is desperate to get back up and running after events had to be abandoned because of the coronavirus. Its latest production is Broadway and Beyond at The Forum, Northallerton on April 28, 29 and 30. Tickets are currently on sale.

Three generations of the Phillips family, well known farmers in the area, are involved. Dad Brian used to be on stage but is now abandoning his tractor to take on the role of stage manager.

Company secretary Maureen Willoughby said: “Brian can make anything, the set for this show is all glitz and he has worked hard, with his team, to achieve this.

"Son Paul takes part in the show and has some solo spots as he has a wonderful singing voice, Paul also designs the lighting plot for the show. Paul's daughter Sophie, aged nine, is also taking part in the production and features in the ‘Annie’ section, ‘Mary Poppins’, and ‘Wizard of Oz’. You will recognise Sophie as she always smiles.

“After the pandemic the company is desperate to get back up and running so we are asking people to please do come along and see a spectacular production of songs from well known musicals including a tribute to HM Queen on her Platinum jubilee, the company will sing songs from her favourite musicals.”

Tickets from £11 to £15 are on sale at The Forum, Northallerton, telephone 01609 776230, or online at www.forumnorthallerton.org.uk
