SAVE the Children’s Ukraine Appeal has received a £10,500 boost from Barkers of Northallerton.
Generous costumers at the High Street and Yafforth Road Home stores donated £5,250 at the tills, which the family business doubled to support the cause that has captured hearts all over the world.
Alison Iles, who manages the Northallerton branch of Save the Children, said: “We are simply overwhelmed.
“We can’t thank Barkers and their staff enough for their amazing generosity.
“Save the Children has been supporting families in eastern Ukraine since conflict broke out in 2014 and we continue to give them life-changing help in the form of vouchers to help families pay for food, accommodation and medicines.
"We also offer vital mental health and education support to children whose lives have been torn apart.”
Donations for the Save the Children Ukraine Appeal are still being accepted at the Barkers High Street department store and Barkers Home.
