THERE was a dramatic turnaround in division one of the Hillsprint Hambleton Football Combination on Sunday when second-placed Sportsman’s came back from 3-0 down at home to eventually beat Sessay Cricket Club 6-4.

A Charlie Wilson brace and a Mark Jackson strike put Sessay 3-0 up after 12 minutes. Sporty’s hit back, scoring twice through Dan Caisley (14 minutes) and Richard Calvert (42 minutes) to make it 3-2 to Sessay at half time. A second half brace apiece from Scott McNichol and Aaron Ramsbottom put Sporty’s 6-3 up before Sessay scored a fourth courtesy of an own goal.

Third-placed Durham Ox visited Knayton and in a close game won 4-3. Harry Riordan gave Knayton the lead after five minutes, but Charlie Bingley equalised for Ox three minutes later. Chris Smales put Ox ahead after 27 minutes when he received the ball from the Knayton goal keeper's goal kick and volleyed it straight back into the Knayton goal. Bingley put Ox 3-1 up after 55 minutes.

Jake Porter reduced the arrears for Knayton two minutes later, but Bingley then completed his hat trick to put his side 4-2 up, before Porter scored his second for Knayton to make it 4-3 Ox.

Fifth-placed Cowtons hosted sixth-placed Kildale and had a comfortable 6-1 win. Cowtons raced into a 5-1 half time lead with a Scott Ryan hat trick and further goals from Danial Rafiq and Luca Sartini. Harry Chown was the Kildale scorer. The second half was much quieter with the only goal being scored on 90 minutes by Cowtons' Mark Sims.

The Stokesley Wanderers versus Catterick Village game was postponed as there was not a referee available.

In division two, second-placed Shorthorn, South Otterington hosted Oddies WMC, N’ton and won 4-1. Shorthorn took the lead on five minutes courtesy of an own goal. On 40 minutes, James Coatsworth put Shorthorn 2-0 up and Joe Martin made it 3-0 three minutes later. In the second half Sam Rayner reduced the arrears for Oddies on 60 minutes.

Martin scored his second on 86 minutes to complete the scoring and move his side to the top of the table.

Third-placed Golden Lion, N’ton hosted fourth placed Leeming United and won 2-0 with a brace from Josh Watson on 40 and 63 minutes.

Catterick Garrison Football Centre hosted Katch FC, N’ton and won 6-2. Callum Whiting put Katch ahead after nine minutes. Ben Holland equalised for Catterick on the stroke of half time. Nilli Westbury put Katch ahead on 50 minutes with a penalty. Catterick stormed back with Jordan Scragg scoring four times to make it 5-2 Catterick and Lamin Janneh scored a sixth for Catterick on 90 minutes with a penalty to complete the scoring.
