DUNCOMBE Park at Helmsley will play host to the Sinnington Point to Point on Sunday, and 110 entries have been received for what is now an eight race card which concludes with a bumper run over two miles.

Always a fantastic setting which produces some competitive racing, the viewing from the hillside is excellent and the first event, the Hunt Members race, gets under way at 12pm.

Will Easterby always likes to have a strong hand in his local Hunt Race and this year looks no different, 11 entries have been received and the Easterby team has three otions. Black River looks the best of them but is having his first start of the season and may be vulnerable to some more race fit competitors.

Lottie Crane also holds a strong hand and recent Sheriff Hutton runner up Show And Go could again take a step forward. He improved with racing last year and this sharper track could play to his strengths.

Lottie also has the choice of Ballinahow Bill but he has yet to recapture his old form.

Guy Brewer's Point The Way won a brace of Hunter Chases last season and looked a useful stayer. He may be more effective over a stiffer track but clearly has plenty of ability and comes here after finishing fourth at Alnwick. His stablemate and yard debutant River Frost was a recent purchase from Doncaster sales where he was previously with Ben Haslam.

Previously he reached a rating of 145 when in his prime with Alan King and could be a competitive new recruit.

The Open Maiden has been divided, with 15 entries in each division, while in the final race, a point to point flat race run over two miles, the only entrant with any racecourse experience is Anacondas Command and Penny Dance.

The latter was a well held fourth in a Revsby flat race for Tom Ellis.

Fascinating Rhythm is brother to two winning middle distance flat horses who both performed to ratings in the mid 60s to 70s. Is So Cute Dimaria was a 10,000 euro yearling from Ireland and is by group two winning stayer Fly With Me.

Norse Lake is trained by Francesca Poste so will surely know the time of day, he is half brother to Miss Zip who was a triple chase winner under rules, albeit at a low level.

Pop The Question is out of thorough stayer Poppy Day and her progeny have looked to need time, Purse Price is another for Cherry Coward and is sister to Midtech Valentine, who was placed twice in bumpers as well as numerous wins over hurdles.

Dale Peters can usually get one ready, however Ronaldoreturns is out of Asmahan who only raced twice on the flat, depositing her jockey after leaving the stalls both times, so hopefully he hasn't inherited his mother's attitude.

The only thing to go on here is pedigree and the one with the best breeding looks to be Looselipssinkships. She is sister an impressive maiden point winner and also half sister to Cannon Fodder, who, after being paced in bumpers, developed into a nice staying hurdler/chaser reaching official ratings around 130.
