THE FORMER tenants of a popular Darlington pub are a step closer to opening a new town centre venture.

The team who recently left the Hole in the wall pub on Horse Market have revealed plans to open Bistro: A new venture selling cheese, charcuterie, pies and bakery, wine, whisky and craft beer.

In a social media post in December last year, they said: "We will be opening a Bistro and Bar in the town centre, plus a cheese and charcuterie deli. We will also be smashing out some more pop up events in 2022.... so please feel free to follow us on our journey."

A further post proposes the "same cracking team of service & kitchen staff, same friendly and professional attitude..... although we promise to keep the sarcasm under control in 2022."

The owners describe the new places as a "town centre bistro and cellar bar. Seasonal produce with British and foreign influences. Great breakfasts, lunch menu and evening dining. Plus intimate basement speakeasy".

And now, a video posted on Bistro's Facebook page on Monday afternoon revealed the new venture is located in Post House Wynd, inside the former Coopers Tea & Coffee House.
