A WOMAN died has after she was struck by a bus in a County Durham village, police have this afternoon confirmed.
The woman, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene in Croxdale Front Street after the incident on Friday evening.
At the time, the road was closed in both directions for several hours while it was reported that multiple emergency service vehicles were at the scene.

At around 8pm, parademics and collision investigation officers were seen working outside The Croxdale Inn pub.
But in a statement on Monday, police confirmed a woman had died in the incident.
A spokesperson for Durham Police told The D&S Times: "A woman has sadly died following a collision in Croxdale on Friday (January 21).
"The incident took place on Front Street at around 7.30pm, when a woman in her 30s was struck by a bus.
"Despite the best efforts of emergency services, she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene."
A report is now being prepared for the coroner.
