POLICE have launched an investigation after a man was knocked unconscious and suffered a fractured jaw in a serious assault on Boxing Day in Scarborough pub.

The incident happened inside the Turks Head pub in Eastborough at around 10pm on Boxing Day December 26.

A local man, in his late 40s, was knocked unconscious as a result and suffered two fractures in his jaw that required hospital treatment.

Police say extensive enquiries have been ongoing to identify a suspect and to confirm the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

As the investigation progresses, officers are asking possible witnesses or anyone who has information about the violent incident to get in touch.
