A STOCKTON school has been forced to close to years 8 and 9 students this week due to “staffing issues” says Stockton Borough Council.
In a statement issued on Twitter, the council said The Grangefield Academy is closed to years 8 and 9 students today and Tuesday.
According to the council “staffing issues” and staffing capacity has meant that year 8 and year 9 students will be asked to work from home.
The council says remote learning is in place for all students in these two year groups.
A bespoke timetable has been created according to the council, which years 8 and 9 students will follow on Monday and Tuesday.
Lessons are set to be delivered by “trust directors” and students are “expected to attend all sessions remotely.”
Students in those years are also expected back in on Wednesday January 12, and all other year groups should continue to attend school as normal.
The Grangefield Academy is closed to Year 8 and Year 9 students tomorrow and on Tuesday (January 10 and 11) due to staffing issues/capacity but remote learning is in place for all students in these two year groups.
