AT the halfway point of the season, the Hillsprint Hambleton Football Combination has two teams through to the quarter finals of the North Riding Sunday County Cup.

Division one leaders Stokesley Wanderers host Belle Vue Rovers, Middlesbrough. Kildale are away to The Lambton, Normanby, Middlesbrough. Both will be tough games.

Both divisional cups are through to the semi final stage. In the Frank Bainbridge D.1 Cup, Streetlam Farmers host Kildale. Durham Ox host Catterick Village. In the Bob Seymour D.2 Trophy Shorthorn, South Otterington host Golden Lion, N’ton. Leeming United host Catterick Garrison FC.

In the Hillsprint League Cup, the fixtures are practically through to the quarter final stage with Golden Lion, N’ton v Katch N’ton the outstanding round two tie. The winners are at home to Cowtons.

The other quarter finalists are Catterick Rovers v Stokesley Wanderers, Durham Ox, N’ton v Sportsman’s, N’ton and Shorthorn v Kirklington.

In division one Stokesley Wanderers are the leaders going into the New Year. Catterick Village are second with Sportsman’s third, who have two games in hand on Catterick and are only two points behind them. Durham Ox are fourth and also have two games in hand on Catterick Village.

At the foot of the table Knayton are bottom with Robert Thompson’s and Streetlam Farmers just above them. Unfortunately, Thirsk Town resigned from the league during October as they were finding it difficult to field teams.

New team Shorthorn, South Otterington top division two one point ahead of Golden Lion, N’ton, who have a game in hand. Kirklington are third, level on points with Golden Lion but have played three games more. At the foot of the table Catterick Rovers are bottom with Katch and Catterick Garrison Football Centre just above them. Unfortunately, during November Potting Shed resigned from the league due to being unable to field a side each week.
