IN the quarter finals of the Hillsprint Hambleton Football Combination's Bob Seymour Trophy, Northallerton teams Golden Lion and Oddies WMC, met, with Lion running out 6-2 winners.

Oddies started well and put the Lion defence under pressure for the first 20 minutes. Lion were relying on quick breaks and took the lead on 26 minutes through Ben Wood. On the stroke of half time a defensive slip by an Oddies defender let in Lee Manamley, who coolly shot past Charlie Bingley in the Oddies goal.

A minute into the second half Paul Harrison scored for Oddies to reduce the arrears. Lion hit back scoring three goals in 13 minutes through Eddie Thornborough, George Fawcett and Ben Darville. Jordan Wallace scored a second for Oddies on 70 minutes. Lion now go through to the semi-finals where they are away to Shorthorn, South Otterington.

Round two of the Hillsprint League Cup saw Durham Ox host Streetlam Farmers, and have a resounding 10-2 victory. Ox’s scorers were Chris Hope with a perfect hat trick (left foot, right foot and a header) followed by a brace each for Dan Baxter, Rob Frazer and Raiden Smithson Hogg and a Wes Smith strike. Anthony Thompson and an own goal were Streetlam's scorers. Durham Ox are at home to Sportsman’s in the quarter finals. The Robert Thompson’s, Thirsk v Cowtons game was postponed as Thompson’s were unable to field a side. Cowtons go through to the quarter finals where they will play either Golden Lion, N’ton or Katch, N’ton away.

Back in the league, in division one, second-placed Stokesley Wanderers hosted sixth placed Sessay Cricket Club and won 4-0. All the goals came in the first half with Joe Casson, Jack Johnston, Ryan Morley and Matthew Smith the scorers. The win takes Stokeley to the top of the league. The Kildale v Knayton game was postponed as Knayton could not field a side.

In division two, league leaders Shorthorn, South Otterington visited third placed Kirklington and drew 2-2, dropping their first league points of the season in a very hard-fought game. Shorthorn took the lead after two minutes through Jacob Stayman Collin. Kirklington equalised four minutes later through Ryan Barker. Shorthorn were reduced to ten men after 28 minutes when Luke Rance was sent off for serious foul play after a rash challenge on a Kirklington player.

In the second half Guy Keeble put Kirklington ahead after 61 minutes. Joe Martin equalised for Shorthorn with ten minutes to go, and that was how the scoreline remained. Seventh placed White Bear, Bedale hosted sixth placed Academy, Dalton, Thirsk and in a close game won 4-3. Daniel Hare gave Bear a 1-0 half time lead. He went on to score another three goals in the second half with Academy replying with three goals, a Sol Stevens brace and a Sam Carter strike. The win moves White Bear above Academy in the league.

Eighth placed Catterick Garrison Football Centre hosted Catterick Rovers and won 3-1. Mick Chape, Connor Dagnall and Taylor Prothero were the Garrison scorers.

There are no fixtures on December 26. The Combination re commences on January 2.
