The Sunday Times has released its school guide of 2022, identifying which UK schools are highest-achieving.

A number of North London-based schools have been ranked highly across the different lists including state secondary and primary schools.

The result is determined by the average percentage of examination in entries in three years from 2017-2019 gaining A* to B grades at A-level and with an average percentage of 9-7 for GCSE.

The 29th edition of the Parent Power, The Sunday Times Schools Guide helps parents compare the performance of schools with others in the local area so they can see which are the best performing.

The guide is broken up into four different lists, with the top independent secondary schools, top state secondary schools, top primary schools, and top preparatory schools.

Barnet-based school Queen Elizabeth’s School ranked top of the list for state secondary schools with 96.3% for their A-levels and 91.5% for GCSE scores.

St Michael's RC Grammer School in Finchley was also ranked in the top state schools taking 20th spot with 84.4% for A-levels and 80.8% for GCSEs.

For independent secondary schools, Elstree's Haberdashers' Girls' School and The Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School made the list with the girls in 13th place and the boys at 16th.

Three North London-based preparatory schools made the top 20 with Reddiford School in Pinner coming in joint 5th place.

Followed by Alpha Preparatory School in Harrow at joint 7th place and Chigwell Junior School comes in at 16th on the list.
