Richmond & D.M.C. Eric Ridley Memorial Trial, Hurst, Sunday.

THE Richmond Motor Club again excelled, as usual, at Tongue Hill, Hurst where Sandra Fowler and the organising team overcame the freezing conditions, and believe or not a snow-coated final section, for the 176 competitors.

Rob Weatherill was clerk of the course with a lot of guidance and help from Paul Astwood.

Richard Sadler won with Ian Austermuhle and Danny Gamble in the top three places, plus Boston Spa visitor Sam Yeadon in fourth.

Arkengarthdale engineer Jack Stones took the Inter class and was fourth overall. Ryan Brown was the top novice. Mark Willis won green course with the rapidly improving Callum Fowler second overall, and top in the Youth green course.

The youngsters are coming along really well, and Charlie Astwood in Class B had a cracking ride, coming fifth on the clubman course.

A typical winter day which tested all involved, especially the observers and office staff in their vehicles at the start. Richmond will rest now until Boxing Day and reflect on a top class season of trialling.
