KILDALE hosted Catterick Garrison Red Star in round two of the North Riding Sunday County Cup, and in a very close game won 4-3 with goals from Steven Thomson, Robbie Atkinson, Josh Hurwood and Flynn Johnson.

Kildale, together with Stokesley Wanderers, progress into the quarter finals to be played on January 9, 2022 kick off 10.30am. Kildale are away to The Lambton, Middlesbrough. Stokesley Wanderers are at home to Belle Vue Rovers, Middlesbrough.

In the quarter finals of the Frank Bainbridge Cup, Catterick Village visited Cowtons and won 4-0 with a Gary Hutchison brace, a Brandon Bishop strike and an own goal courtesy of Cowtons' Scott Ryan.

In the match of the day, Durham Ox visited Sportsman’s and won 4-2. Dan Baxter put Ox 2-0 up after 36 minutes, Dan Caisley equalised for Sporty’s four minutes later, before Scott McNichol equalised for Sporty’s on 60 minutes.

Mikey Stevens put Ox 3-2 up three minutes later. With ten minutes to go Sam Vernalls scored a 25 yard screamer to make it 4-2 Ox and take his side into the semi finals with a home tie against Catterick Village.

Catterick Garrison FC hosted Academy, Dalton, Thirsk in the quarter finals of the Bob Seymour Trophy, and won 6-0 with a brace from Connor Dagnall and further goals from Liam Stacey, Matthew Kirk, Nathan Bailley and Taylor Prothero.

Garrison are away to Leeming United in the semi-finals. Shorthorn, South Otterington visited White Bear, Bedale and won 8-0 with a brace each from Joe Martin, James Coatsworth, and Michael Gunnell and further goals from Rio Smithson Hogg and Cameron Kinder. Shorthorn now face either Oddies WMC or Golden Lion in the semi-finals at home.

Away from the cups, in division 1 of the Hillsprint Hambleton Football Combination, Sessay Cricket Club played Knayton at Knayton on the ground they share this season and won 4-1. Dom Raynor put Knayton 1-0 up after ten minutes. Hayden Wilson equalised for Sessay on 30 minutes, and in the second half Sessay scored a further three goals through a Richard Thompson brace and a Karl Carver strike to give them the points. Robert Thompsons, Thirsk hosted Streetlam Farmers and had a narrow 1-0 win with a Riley Bainbridge goal.

In division two, Leeming United hosted Catterick Rovers and won 3-0 with goals from Steven Reid, Tim Fream and an own goal.

Oddies WMC hosted Katch and won 9-0. Charlie Bingley with five, Will Horner a hat trick and Paul Harrison were the Oddies scorers.
