STOKESLEY Wanderers, division one leaders in the Hillsprint Hambleton Football Combination League, hosted Boro Walkers and won 5-0 in the second round of the North Riding Sunday County Cup.

James Stinson was on fire, scoring four goals, with Kieran Watson scoring Wanderers' other goal.

Sportsman’s were supposed to travel to Haxby Town but couldn’t field a team so the game was postponed.

Back in the league, in division one, second in the table Catterick Village travelled to Knayton and in a very close game won 3-2. Rob Cowton gave Knayton the lead after seven minutes and that’s how the score remained until half time. Three minutes into the second half, Brandon Gredziak scored a second for Catterick on 53 minutes and George Battersby scored a third for Catterick nine minutes from full time.

Tom Griffiths scored a second for Knayton two minutes later to produce a tense finish, however, Catterick held on to claim the three points and move back to the top the first division one table.

Fifth-placed Durham Ox visited fourth-placed Cowtons and had a comfortable 5-1 win. A Dan Baxter brace and a goal from Rob Frazer gave Ox a 3-0 half time lead. Mark Sims reduced the arrears on 72 minutes, however, Cowtons conceded an own goal a minute later to restore Ox’s three goal advantage. Chris Smales scored a fifth for Ox on 76 minutes to complete the scoring and move his side up to third in the table.

The Streetlam Farmers versus Sessay Cricket club game produced no fewer than 13 goals with Sessay winning the game 7-6. Tom Chapman gave Streetlam the lead after two minutes, and Tom Barley scored a second four minutes later. Sessay responded with a goal by Luke Burnett on 18 minutes and equalised courtesy of an own goal by Streetlam's Anthony Thompson on 23minutes. Burnett scored a second for Sessay to put his side 3-2 up only for Barley to equalise for Streetlam. Five minutes before half time, Charlie Wilson scored a fourth for Sessay. Three minutes into the second half, Streetlam's Chiyaneojo equalised for his team. On 60 minutes, Richard Thompson put Sessay 5-4 up. Anthony Thompson equalised for Streetlam on 70 minutes and Chiyaneojo scored a sixth goal for Streetlam to put his side 6-5 up. Mark Jackson equalised for Sessay on 78 minutes to level the scores at 6-6. With eight minutes to go Duncan Terry scored a seventh for Sessay which proved to be the final goal and give his side the points in a very entertaining game in front of a good crowd.

In division two, the match of the day was between league leaders Golden Lion, Northallerton and Oddies WMC, Northallerton which was also a local derby. The game was played on Oddies ground at Northallerton Leisure Centre. Lion took the lead on 22 minutes through Eddie Thornborough. He added a second on 56 minutes, however, five minutes later Tommy Horner scored for Oddies to produce a tense finish, however, Lion held on to claim the points.

In a rearranged fixture Shorthorn, South Otterington visited Academy, Dalton, Thirsk and had a comfortable victory winning 8-1. Shorthorn's goals were scored by a brace each from Joe Martin and Rio Smithson Hogg and further goals from James Coatsworth, Jacob Stayman Collin, Tom Lewis and Jake McNaughton. Academy's goal was scored by Sam Carter. The win keeps Shorthorn second in the table.

Third-placed Kirklington hosted Catterick Rovers and won 9-0 with a brace from James Newcombe and further goals from Dan Brown, Ollie Spence, Guy Keeble, Ryan Barker, Zac Okey, Lucas Gray and Adam Weston.

White Bear, Bedale visited Katch and recorded their first victory of the season, winning 5-1. Alex Coates gave Katch the lead after 30 minutes. Connor Fraser equalised for Bear on 35 minutes. Jonny Saving put Bear ahead five minutes later. Bear scored a further three goals through Daniel Hare, Jed Simmons and Sam Lyons to give them the points.

Academy were scheduled to play Potting Shed, Northallerton, however, Potting Shed were unable to field a side. On Monday evening The Potting Shed secretary advised the Combination secretary Brian Garthwaite that they would be resigning from the Combination with immediate effect.
