FANS of the Yorkshire Shepherdess, Amanda Owen queued down the steeet as the star of Channel 5 series Our Yorkshire Farm came to Guisborough Bookshop, accompanied by five of her children.

Mrs Owen is promoting her new book, Celebrating the Seasons with the Yorkshire Shepherdess, as previewed in last week's D&S Times.

A large queue formed outside the Guisborough Bookshop in Chaloner Street to welcome her and, although she was late, nobody complained.

Mrs Owen, husband Clive and their nine children farm at Ravenseat, high in Swaledale.

She has written three previous books on her life as a shepherdess, and the latest shares funny stories through the farming year with her family and their many four-legged charges at Ravenseat, from lambing and shearing in spring to haymaking in summer to feeding the flock in mid-winter.
