PENDLE MP Andrew Stephenson has launched his annual Christmas card competition for primary school pupils in his constituency, which includes Barnoldswick and Earby.

The chosen design, which will be announced in three weeks time will re-produced on the front of Mr Stephenson’s cards and be sent out to thousands of people including local councillors, fellow MPs , the Prime Minister Boris Johnson and even Her Majesty the Queen.

The competition will once again be sponsored by Barnoldswick bed makers, Silentnight.

Mr Stephenson said: “I am delighted that Silentnight have again agreed to sponsor this year’s competition, meaning that there are some excellent prizes on offer.

“Every year my office receive hundreds of wonderful designs from school children across Pendle and I can’t wait to see this year’s entries.”

Last year the competition was won by 11 year old Brooke Burgan, of Park Primary School in Colne. Runners-up were six year old Esme Shuttleworth, of Roughlee Primary School, Roughlee, and Humaira Ahmed, 10, from Gisburn Road Primary School in Barnoldswick.

To take part in the competition, children’s designs must be entered by Friday, November 12. The winners will be chosen by Monday, November 15.

Designs need to be delivered to Mr Stephenson’s constituency office at 4 Church Street, Barnoldswick.
