A BEST-SELLING author, known for her books on miniature Shetland Pony Little Alf, has now written and illustrated a new children’s story.

Yorkshire Dales businesswoman Hannah Russell had her first book published whilst still a teenager. Many chronicle the adventures of Little Alf her pet pony and best friend. Now after several years of successful writing she has brought out her 13th book “Binky the Bunny’s winter tale” which is due to hit the book shops in time for Christmas.

The story follows Binky, a woodland rabbit and her friends, with the story’s illustrations all Hannah's work – a new venture for the entrepreneur, who has 20 pets of her own, including two rabbits of her own.

“I’ve got two rabbits Bumble and Muffles but didn’t want one of them to be jealous so I created a new character ‘Binky’," said Hannah.

“I wanted to do the illustrations and I have surprised myself as I wasn’t sure I could do it.”

Pre-orders from around the world initially sold-out but a new supply is now available.

Hannah also runs several other business including a clothing range, has her own shop in Leyburn and is an ambassador for several animal charities. A further adventure of Little Alf is in the pipeline and should be released soon.

“Binky the Bunny’s winter tale” is available online or at her Leyburn shop.
