THE 64th annual dinner and prize presentation of the Teesside & District Union of Golf Clubs took place on Friday, October 22, following cancellation of the 2020 event due to Covid.

The event, held at the Sporting Lodge Inn, Middlesbrough, was attended by 120 golfers from across the region.

Richmond Golf Club member John Simpson has served as the president of the union for two years during a time when the pandemic resulted in some of the fixtures being cancelled.

Nevertheless, John, a member of Richmond Golf Club for 35 years and captain in 2013, said: "It has been a privilege to serve as president of the union during turbulent times caused by Covid, but once again there has been some tremendous golf played and it gives me great pleasure to present the prizes this evening."
