ONE of the biggest book and postcard fairs in the North of England returns to Bedale this weekend.

The Bedale Book and Postcard Fair, held in Bedale Hall this Sunday, attracts the best book and postcard sellers from around the country. The event was held twice a year until Covid-19 meant cancellations in 2020 and this Spring.

There will be thousands of books and postcards on display and for sale. Some will be rare antiquarian and unusual out-of-print publications. There will also be maps and ephemera.

Open from 10am to 4pm, refreshments including home-made cakes will be available.

Admission is £1.50, under 14s enter for free and there is plenty of free parking at the hall or in nearby North End.

The fair is organised and run by the Rotary Club of Northallerton Mowbray with proceeds going to charity.

Club president Dianne Mousley said: “It’s great to have the Fair back and we look forward to welcoming everyone to Bedale Hall again.

“Even if you don’t consider yourself a bookworm, there will be something to interest you.”
