AN ongoing multi-million pound redevelopment of Darlington Market has changed the face of the historic facility.
New stalls and events have appeared over the last few months, however, sadly, some established businesses have also left.
Six new food stalls have opened in the market, which has been redesigned to include seating, a bar and a performance area.
Market Asset Management (MAM), which runs it, is hoping the investment will increase footfall to the market and to the town, providing a boost for the remaining stall holders, who have felt the pinch during the coronavirus pandemic.
Grocer Robin Blair, who runs the market's longest standing stall, previously said that businesses has been "neglected and forgotten" and welcomed the change.
That sentiment has been echoed by other traders in the market - new traders and a refresh generating more footfall. But the loss of some established businesses has left a bitter taste for some customers.
Traders have left in recent months, including to the Cornmill Centre and other town retail units. Here, we round up all the businesses to have left the market.
