THE opening date of a brand new Caribbean restaurant in Durham City has been officially revealed - and a sneak peek of the menu has also been released.
Bosses have confirmed when the new two-storey Turtle Bay restaurant in The Riverwalk development is set to open after months in the making.
Earlier this year, the venue, which will serve up a mix of Caribbean soul food and a range of cocktails, confirmed around 50 jobs had been created ahead of its opening.

Meanwhile, last month restaurant bosses named the new general manager and said it had so far filled 38 positions, with a further 12 still up for grabs.
But confirming an opening date, bosses said the new restaurant will open to the public on Friday, October 15.
Ryan Sullivan, general manager of Turtle Bay Durham, said: “Summer might be over but Turtle Bay is ready to transport the people of Durham and the North East to the Caribbean, just what we all need as the nights draw in.
"We open with a whole new collection of tropical cocktails to make the magic of a ‘Caribbean Social’ come to life and an island-inspired all-day menu for every kind of foodie, from vegan to clean-and-lean to Jerk Pit BBQ, fiery curries, breakfasts, burgers and beach themed salads.”
'2-4-1 cocktails'
A sneak peek of the menu has also revealed a number of cocktails, exclusive to Turtle Bay in Durham.
They include
- Pineapple Daiquiri - Jamaica Cove Pineapple Rum & triple sec, fresh lime & pineapple
- Coconut and Grapefruit Mojito - Koko Kanu & white rum, fresh coconut, mint, lime & grapefruit

It has also said it will serve 2-4-1 cocktails and mocktails at select times day and night, with 'Happy Hours' on food each day of trade.
Mr Sullivan said: “We can’t wait to heat up the social scene in Durham this Autumn.
"From rum and reggae to sizzling jerk chicken, bottomless brunch and classic curries, Turtle Bay is bringing the spirit of the Caribbean and its legendary good times."
