A PROMINENT Darlington building is set to reopen its doors as a new hotel and restaurant.
Houndgate Townhouse, located on Houndgate in the town centre, is set to reopen later this year after it closed in April 2019.
The business, a designer hotel, bar and restaurant, said the closure was due to economic uncertainty.
However, renovation work is now underway to redevelop the buildings interior.
The new owners have revealed Saltfish, a new seafood restaurant and wine bar, will open soon.
A job advertisement describing the new restaurant reads: "Saltfish will offer a buzzing trade throughout the day from breakfast to dinner service.
"We are proud to showcase local suppliers, working with the finest ingredients to produce a sustainable and superior seafood menu including open fire cooking to flamboyant afternoon teas.
"Paired with this we will also be offering organic wines, a unique high quality signature cocktail menu and freshly shucked oysters and fabulous snacks from the Wine Bar area.
The Houndgate Townhouse Hotel will also offer eight luxurious en-suite bedrooms.
The statement adds: "Our professional, dedicated and friendly team will guide the customers with pairing seafood and wines from our showstopper Wine Bar selection."
