THE 2021 Summer Sounds pop concert returned to the Gisborough Priory at the weekend, with the wet weather failing to deter several thousand music fans from attending.

Many had brought tents or shelters so as to enjoy the music in relatively dry conditions, some were dressed in plastic mackintoshes to make the best of the conditions, and many had come in fancy dress to add to the spectacle of the occasion.

Two thousand fans turned out on Friday, and 2,611 on Saturday. The event, which was a sell-out, featured more than 14 hours of live music from 12 of the UK's best tribute bands over the two days.

The party kicked off on Friday, with a night of legends, featuring tributes to some of the biggest artists in the world, including Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Elvis, and The Beatles. Hosted by Zetland FM, the music ranged from rock and roll, to Motown, soul, pop and dance.

On Saturday, the music began at 3pm, and finished at 11pm, with tributes acts from today's biggest artists, including The Killers, Oasis, Ed Sheeran, Pink, The Beautiful South and Robbie Williams, plus support from local band The Fallen.

There was no shortage of facilities with licensed bars, a food village, festival stalls, a rodeo bull, street entertainers, fireworks and more. Proceeds from all tickets will go to the MFC Foundation charity.

On Sunday there should have been Proms in the Priory with the London Gala Orchestra, but unfortunately this was postponed to 2022 because of the pandemic.
