A LIVE music event in Thirsk has been cancelled after its rescheduled date became unviable.
Thirsk Live was initially due to take place in the grounds of Thirsk Hall on July 10 this year, featuring live music, bars and top tribute acts.
But when the Government delayed the easing of lockdown rules regarding large gatherings, the event was rescheduled to September 18.
Today, event director Steve Williams said that a large amount of ticketholders then asked for refunds because they couldn't attend the September date, which prompted its cancellation.
Mr Williams said: "It was a situation beyond our control because Boris moved the original lockdown date back a month, so that stopped us doing it on July 10.
"We were on target with ticket sales at that point, but when a lot of people can't make the September date, what can you do?"

Refunds have been given and Mr Williams said the situation has left him out of pocket and 'absolutely gutted'.
He says he has no plans to try and revive the event next summer.
Thirsk Live was a separate event to the popular Picnic in the Park which ran in the grounds of Thirsk Hall for more than a decade.
