TWO more big names have been added to Northallerton’s first music festival this summer.

The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club have been announced as headliners on Sunday, with DJ and former JLS boyband singer Marvin Humes taking to the decks earlier in the day.

The North Yorkshire Music Festival takes place at Canada Fields Caravan Park from August 13 to 15.

Craig Charles launched his BBC radio show, The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show, nearly two decades ago and it has since toured the UK and beyond, including performances at Glastonbury and gigs in Australia, Dubai and Ibiza.

The acclaimed actor and presenter, who is also famous for roles in Red Dwarf and Coronation Street, celebrates classic hits from the roots of black music along with new releases and club classics.

Marvin Humes rose to fame as part of award-winning boyband JLS before moving into tv and radio presenting.

He has had stints on This Morning, The Voice and music quiz show The Hit List, and has launched his own successful club night, Marvin’s Room.

“Craig Charles and Marvin Humes have a huge stage presence and are sure to get a really party atmosphere going and it’s fantastic to give a platform to northern talent too.

“We are really striving to make sure there’s something for all ages to enjoy across the weekend and it’s shaping up to be an incredible event.”
