A MANHUNT has been launched to find a biker wanted after reports of antisocial behaviour.

Bishop Auckland Police said the rider of the green trial bike pictured has been linked with causing significant annoyance and disruption for residents and visitors.

They said the rider of the bike has been witnessed speeding, displayed no regard for other people’s safety and there have been several near misses with both vehicles and pedestrians.

One incident involved the rider narrowly avoiding a young girl with a pushchair.

A police spokesperson said: "The rider is risking serious injury to both himself and members of the public, and committing several offences in the process.

"The bike has been seen across Bishop Auckland but specifically around the Barrington Meadows, Woodhouse Estate and Cockton Hill Road area.

Police are currently actively engaging with our partners in Durham County Council and we are hopeful that residents should shortly see some structural traffic calming measures at access points on public right of ways and open spaces.

"If you have any information that could assist us in positively identifying the rider and or the location of the bike, your information will be received in confidence by contacting either 101 (on telephone or live chat) and asking for the information to be passed to the Bishop Auckland Neighbourhood Team."
