A STATUE of a soldier was vandalised in a memorial garden.
Police released a statement on Facebook and said someone had attended a memorial garden in Sadberge, near Darlington and removed the head on a soldier statue.
Police said: "We believe only the head of the statue was knocked off, however a resident in the village has since repaired it."
A small model plane was also damaged.
Police have asked anyone with information to contact them on 101 and ask to speak to PC Ruck 2449.
