AFTER the phenomenal success of the first ever "Big Flat Runway races" last year, the event was back again this year at Elvington in York on Sunday, April 25.

With several distances for athletes to choose from, Richmond and Zetland Harriers' Joseph Smith tackled the half marathon and had a great run to finish 18th overall, second V35 in 1:25:21 (PB).

The same day, Stefanos Stephanou travelled to Cumbria for the Kirkbride Half Marathon. Stefanos was over the moon with his time, finishing fifth overall in 1:14:32 (PB).

A shorter distance was raced at the Middlesbrough Endeavour 10k on the same day. The event was held with graded races at Middlesbrough Sports Village on the fast and flat closed road circuit.

Steve Middleton and Tom O'Mahoney, both in race one, had impressive runs with Steve finishing 15th overall and first V45 in 34:30 and Tom in 16th and first U17 in the same time of 34:30 (PB).

Back to the longer distances and John Gray headed to Wetherby on Saturday, May 1 for the Bramham Park Trail Half Marathon. John had a strong run finishing third overall in 1:24:07.
