The mid-terrace property, which had been used as an adult care home since 1987, was sat on the market for years before being snapped up at auction for £350,000.

Subject to planning, the Saltburn property could be converted into a large family home or into flats.

Located at the end of Emerald Street, the new owner has secured great views of the region's coastline. 

The three-storey property, which was marketed by Michael Poole and had a guide price of £325,000, is made up of a lobby, two reception rooms, 14 bedrooms, kitchen, office and a conservatory and utility room.

There is even a cellar.
