A MAN has been arrested after a spate of thefts from parked vehicles in Hambleton and Richmondshire.
Last week officers from Bedale Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) appealed for information after several incidents in which a man was seen trying vehicle doors in the town and surrounding villages.
Police also received reports of items being stolen from vehicles, including a car battery charger, a hi-vis jacket, a dashcam and purses and wallets.
In the early hours of last Saturday morning, officers stopped a car near Northallerton and the 45-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of seven thefts from a vehicle, ten incidents of interfering with a vehicle, going equipped for theft, and stealing two bicycles.
He has been released on bail, as enquiries continue.
