POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an incident involving a car mounting the pavement close to pedestrians in Stockton.
Officers want to speak to anyone who was present at Bishopton Lane at around 3.45pm on Thursday, May 6, when a grey Ford Focus was reported to have mounted the pavement and travelled at speed along the path.
Members of the public reportedly had to move out of the way to avoid being struck.
The car was then reported to have been driven away at speed, through red traffic lights, onto the A1305 towards Norton, before eventually colliding with railings and a lamppost on Talbot Street – outside the North Shore Academy.
Police would like to speak with the pedestrians who were on Bishopton Lane at this time and anyone who witnessed these incidents or has relevant dashcam footage or CCTV. Please call 101, quoting reference 072197.
