A HISTORIC castle has confirmed its programme of events featuring re-enactments, outdoor theatre and falconry displays.

Bolton Castle, in Wensleydale, North Yorkshire, will be hosting events in its garden from May 1.

The team will continue to encourage social distancing and, mindful of the Government’s roadmap for reopening, the castle, tea room and shop will reopen from May 17.

Events include a medieval living history day on May 1, a weekend of English civil war re-enactments on June 19-20 and an audience with Mary Queen of Scots, who stayed at the castle, on June 24.

There will also be a paranormal evening on July 24 and outdoor theatre productions of Macbeth, Midsummer Night's Dream, Peter Rabbit and Beauty and the Beast in August.
