AT THIS difficult time when theatres across the globe are ‘dark’, Darlington Hippodrome is offering a new online fix – a season of live stream events with best-selling authors, comedians and personalities direct to your living room.

With its doors closed, Darlington Hippodrome has embraced the online mood of the nation and will be streaming a number of talks and discussions by some of the current best-selling authors who have amazing personal life stories to share and important discussions to hold.

The season kicks off with A Night with Ella Risbridger on Tuesday, January 19. Dubbed by Good Housekeeping magazine as ‘the new Nigella’ and ‘the most talented new cookbook writer of a generation’ by The Times, Ella is also celebrating the paperback publication of her bestselling and award-winning book Midnight Chicken (And Other Recipes Worth Living For).

This is an honest, funny and uplifting evening with a rising star in food writing that will make you fall in love with life again.

On Wednesday, January 20, there's a chance to spend the evening with the New York Times and Sunday Times No 1 best-selling novelist Kate Mosse who will be joined by a number of guests including actress Indira Varma (Game of Thrones and Luther) who will read extracts from Kate’s new novel, The City of Tears.

The final session in January is a night with political and women’s rights activist Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu on Thursday, January 21.

Dr Shola will discuss why Black people are now, more than ever, still fighting for the right to be judged by the content of their character, not the colour of their skin. In her new book This Is Why I Resist, Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu demands change, action and a conscious revolution.

These live stream events will be available to view up to a week after their original broadcast date. A ticket is for one household/family bubble. Bookers will be sent a single link to view on a single device.
