NORTHALLERTON Camera Club's last judging evening before the Christmas break took place on Monday, December 7 with the annual "Around our County" competition.

As the title suggests, all entries must have been taken within North Yorkshire, and the judge on this occasion was Gallery's Colin Hugill. Colin awarded four highly commended which went to Patricia Kearton with Red Squirrel – Hawes, John Webster's Redmire Tree, and the remaining two went to Paul Newey with Fountains Abbey and St Mary's (Over Silton).

In joint third place and also best in the Intermediate Class was Richard Collier with Snowy Reeth and drawing with him was Chris Morton with Ingleborough, which was also highest Advanced Class scorer. Second place went to Dee Hanson's Romanby Green. In first place and also first in the Club Class, knocking the Intermediate and Advanced members off the top spot, was Hazel Robson with Wensleydale. Very well done to her.

With 63 entries to peruse Colin had his work cut out but still managed to give a comprehensive critique of each and every entry (via Zoom) and his time was appreciated.
