THIRSK'S Yarnbombers have brought Christmas to town with a host of colourful characters bringing festive joy to visitors.
The committed knitters have pulled out all the stops this Christmas to brighten up what has been a difficult year for many.
They have decorated Thirsk Market Place with scores of seasonal decorations, with festive figures including Father Christmas, penguins and snowmen adorning bollards, rails and noticeboards across the town centre.
Thirsk Mayor, David Duffey, praised the group for bringing some much-needed Christmas jollity to the town.
He said: "Once again they have surpassed themselves and have certainly brought cheer to Thirsk around Christmas time.
"It fits in really well with all the Christmas lights and it is another fantastic display from the Thirsk Yarnbombers."
One of the creations bears a message from the group themselves, wishing everyone a merry Christmas and happy new year.
