ANIMAL rights group PETA is offering a reward of up to £2,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible throwing kittens out of a moving car in Ripon.
The two six-week-old kittens had to be euthanised due to the "catastrophic" injuries they suffered after being thrown from a car on November 19 at around 2pm in the Bondgate Green area.
The car was described as being brown or gold.
PETA Director Elisa Allen said: "Someone in the area must have seen something or know something about the cruel individual(s) who committed this callous act.
"A person capable of deliberately causing a helpless animal this kind of suffering demonstrates a deeply worrying psychological state and must be found."
The group says it is also imperative that the mother cat be found and spayed as quickly as possible to prevent more kittens from being born and suffering a similar fate.
Anyone with information about the case is urged to contact PC Matthew Scott at Ripon Police Station.
