FIREFIGHTERS were called in after a car hit a train at a level crossing.
North Yorkshire Fire And Rescue were called out at 4.44am this morning, November 18, to the Lodge Lane crossing at Brompton after a car hit the side of the freight train.
Firefighter crews used small tools to disconnect the battery of the car.
Network Rail said the train driver reported clipping a vehicle at Walkers User Worked Crossing, which is a private level crossing on Lodge Lane, at 4.27am this morning.
A spokesman for the service said: "Crews from Northallerton responded to a report of a car which had hit a train at a level crossing.
"All persons were out of the vehicle on arrival of the fire service with no injuries, crews made the vehicle safe using tools."
The incident was left with Network Rail, who said there was minor disruption to services and some trains were diverted.
Network Rail teams also carried out safety inspections and there was no damage to the level crossing.
