MORE than 1,400 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the North-East and North Yorkshire.
Meanwhile 326 deaths were announced in the UK since yesterday within 28 days of a positive test.
This brings the total to 46,555 up until today in the UK
Here is a breakdown of new cases in the region, according to figures published on Friday afternoon:
County Durham: 11,870 was 11,598, an increase of 272
Darlington: 1,999 was 1,977 an increase of 22
Gateshead: 4,958 was 4,855 an increase of 103
Hartlepool: 2,293 was 2,238 an increase of 55
Middlesbrough: 3,532 was 3,456 an increase of 76
Newcastle: 8,785 was 8,662 an increase of 123
North Tyneside: 4,102 was 4,006 an increase of 96
North Yorkshire: 8,017 was 7,815 an increase of 202
Northumberland: 5,325 was 5,242 an increase of 83
Redcar & Cleveland: 2,503 was 2,458 an increase of 45
South Tyneside: 3,637 was 3,575 an increase of 56
Stockton: 4,577 was 4,481 an increase of 96
Sunderland: 7,307 was 7,177 an increase of 130
York: 3,705 was 3,652 an increase of 53
Total increase – 1,412
