AFTER 14 successful years, the organisers of Thirsk’s Picnic in the Park had to announce the cancellation of the event due to coronavirus.
Organisers have said that after much deliberation, they have decided that there is just too much uncertainty to plan any large scale music events at this time.
Although this means the end of the Thirsk Picnic era, this is in no way means the end of Thirsk Action Group.
The group said: “We remain committed to raising funds for local charities and Action Medical Research. Already we have some exciting plans for some different future events – watch this space! We would like to thank the Bell family at Thirsk Hall, our sponsors, volunteers and not least, the public for the huge support that we have received over the years and the memorable evenings we have had in aid of some very worthwhile causes.”
