Hello, my name’s Rafiki and I’m four-years-old. My friend Leo is five and we’re ex-racing greyhounds. We’re well looked after by the National Animal Welfare Trust (NAWT) but are looking for comfy couches to call our own.

I can be nervous of some new situations, people and dogs, so need an owner who’s got time to help me be less worried about the world.

I’m super-friendly and love human company and attention. I love to play - squeaky toys and tennis balls to chase are my favourites.

I need an experienced owner and a cat-free home with adults or families with children aged 12 and over. I’d prefer to be the only dog in the home, at least while settling in.

Watford Observer:

Leo is five years old

My friend Leo’s favourite thing is snuggling up with his human for cuddles.

Although he’s very affectionate with people, Leo can be uncomfortable around other dogs so he’s looking for a quiet home with adults or children aged 14 or over where he’s the only pet.

After years spent living in an enclosure, his dream is to have a big garden to play with all his toys.

Watford Observer:

Rafiki really enjoys chasing a tennis ball

You might think greyhounds need lots of exercise but we’re real couch potatoes who only need half-an-hour walks twice a day and walk nicely on the lead.

If you can give us loving homes, email reception@nawt.org.uk or call 0208 950 0177 (option 2) to arrange a visit when the NAWT reopens.
