PROSPECTIVE sixth formers have been taking part in a host of online activities, from sample lessons to virtual tours and quizzes.

Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College had to turn its annual bridging experience, aimed at new students, into an online event due to current restrictions.

It took place last week and allowed many prospective students take part in question and answer sessions to interact with teachers and ask about subjects they are considering studying for their A-levels.

Assistant principal Theresa Amarawansa, who organised the week, said: ‘We understand how incredibly valuable Bridging is for prospective students to help them decide which subjects they would like to take for their A Levels which is why we wanted the event to go ahead despite the challenging circumstances.

"All staff committed themselves fully to the week producing outstanding resources and the results have been fantastic. On the first day, we had over 2,600 visits to our website and all of the live sessions throughout the week were well attended. It has been a real success and I am extremely proud of everybody who was involved."

All of the materials, in addition to the popular subject websites released in May, will be available throughout the summer for students to access.
