Christopher Farmer, of Danby Wiske near Northallerton, is trying to clock up 20 kilometres on his trike and walking frame before July 15 to raise money to support his carer Fiona Fitzgerald, whose husband suffers from a benign pituitary gland tumour, which is a type of brain tumour.

The19-year-old, who has complex needs and is unable to walk without support, aims to travel at least 20 kilometres as part of the disability sports series Superheroes, which is encouraging participants to get involved from home.

"I asked Christopher if he would like to do the 20km for The Pituitary Foundation to help Fiona’s husband and he signed yes immediately."

Mr Farmer has already started clocking up his kilometres using either his Quest specially adapted trike or therapeutic walking frame. To support the teen, click here.
