Health bosses at Gobowen's Orthopaedic Hospital have confirmed its first patient to to die from COVID-19 on Monday.
In a short statement, the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt (RJAH) hospital confirmed the patient had died but did not confirm where they were from, their age or if it was a man or a woman.
The hospital also expressed its condolences.
A spokesman said: "Sadly we can confirm a patient who was being cared for at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, and had tested positive for COVID-19, has died.
"Their family has been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time."
The death at RJAH joins the 25 who have died so far at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust (SaTH) , including four more deaths on Sunday.
