RISHI SUNAK MP has organised a list of businesses providing local food deliveries to help his constituents to stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.

The list, drawn up by Mr Sunak’s constituency staff, also contains contact information for the many support groups that have sprung up in the last three weeks to help people during the coronavirus emergency.

Published on the MP’s website – rishisunak.com – the list is updated daily and includes more than 40 local food suppliers that have developed or expanded an existing home delivery service.

In many cases, the businesses are working with the support groups to prioritise those people most at risk and self-isolating who cannot leave their homes to shop.

Mr Sunak said: “So many local businesses have stepped up to the mark to help local people and the number is growing all the time.

“We know the quickest way we are going to tackle the virus is through staying at home and avoiding unnecessary journeys. These delivery services are a real lifeline and I want to thank all the businesses for their efforts.

“This is also an opportunity for people to support local businesses who need customers at this difficult time.

“The many covid-19 support groups, working with North Yorkshire County Council, are also providing an invaluable service in helping the vulnerable get the essential supplies they need and they too deserve great credit for what they are doing.”

The list of businesses and groups – which wherever possible includes telephone numbers among the contact information - can be found at www.rishsunak.com/latest-coronavirus-advice.
