FOUR people have been arrested after a quantity of class A drugs were seized by police.

Stockton Neighbourhood Police Team arrested three men, aged 22, 24, and 40 and a 38-year-old woman on Sunday.

Officers searched a 24-year-old man in the Camden Street area, at about 8pm, recovering what is believed to be a quantity of crack cocaine.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and he remains in custody.

Police then searched a nearby premises, finding more suspected drugs, cash and scales and arresting the three other people on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

Sergeant John Sproson said: “Because the majority of our communities are adhering to the current advice and legislation regarding staying at home, our officers are somewhat more able to identify where and when alleged drug dealing is taking place on our streets.

“All four people remain in custody awaiting questioning by my colleagues in CID and inquiries are on-going."

"I’d ask anyone with information on drug dealing in their neighbourhood to contact Cleveland Police via the 101 number or speak to the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously via its website at crimestoppers-org.uk."
