INVESTIGATIONS are continuing into the death of a pedestrian after a crash on a rural road near Aysgarth in the Yorkshire Dales.
A 28 year old HGV driver from Cheshire East was arrested after the fatal crash on Church Bank around 12.30pm on Thursday March 12. He was released under investigation after being arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
A pedestrian in his 70s suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene after the collision. Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or was in the area at the time or has dash cam footage which may be of help to contact them.
